Scam Check is operated by Hadayat Mushwani ("we"). This policy covers the Scam Check website and app, including the version you can install on your phone. It explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us to delete it. Questions: hidayatmushwani071@gmail.com.
Before your first check, the app asks for your permission to share what you submit with a third-party AI. When you press "Check this message", the text and any screenshot you add are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, so it can analyze them and return a result. We use this content only to give you the result. We do not save the message or screenshot on our servers after the result is returned, and we don't use it for advertising. Anthropic processes this data under its own commercial terms and privacy policy. Please don't submit passwords, full card numbers, one-time codes or other sensitive personal details.
The app keeps a short list of your recent results (the verdict, a short preview of the message and the date) in your device's own storage so you can look back at them. This list never leaves your device. Tap "Clear" in the app, or clear your browser or app data, to delete it.
To keep the free service fair, we count how many checks come from each internet (IP) address per day. That count is stored for about one day and then deleted automatically.
If you join the Family plan waitlist, we store your email address and the date you signed up. We use it only to tell you about Scam Check. We keep it until you ask us to delete it or we stop offering Scam Check. You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing hidayatmushwani071@gmail.com, and we'll confirm when it's done.
We only share data with these providers to run Scam Check, and we choose providers that commit to protecting it.
We don't sell your personal information, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and we don't show ads.
All data sent between your device and Scam Check is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
Scam Check is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above.
